Inventory Import: There are three types of import for inventory Upload.

  1. Physical: To add Physical Inventory which is physically available in the warehouse use this import.
  2. Virtual: To add Virtual or Vendor Stock use this import.
  3. Inventory Move: To Move the inventory from one bin to another.




Let's go one by one.




Physical Import


Select "Physical" in Import type and click on the template name as ‘Download_Template’ option to download and open the excel template as shown below:


The template consists of fields like Stock Adj Mode, SKU, Total Qty/ Available Qty, Adjusted Bin, Reason, Remarks. 


Fields marked in yellow are mandatory fields. (Note: Adjusted Bin is Mandatory for very the first time while importing the inventory into the system. By default Bin is "Good" ).

There are three Stock adj Modes: 

  • Inventory Increase: It will increase the existing inventory by the inventory mentioned in the import. For example: If the current stock available in e-retail Express is 5 and Additional 2 inventory is mentioned in the import, then the final inventory will be 5+2 = 7 
  • Inventory Decrease: It will decrease the existing inventory by the inventory mentioned in the import. For example: If the current stock available in e-retail Express is 5 and 2 inventory is mentioned in the import, then the final inventory will be 5-2 = 3 
  • Inventory Adjustment: It will adjust the final inventory to the mentioned inventory in the import. For example: If the current stock available in e-retail Express is 5 and 2 inventory is mentioned in the import, then the final inventory will be 2. 



User can enter all inventory related details in this template and save the same on desktop/laptop.

  1. To import this filled excel sheet, the user can drag that file and drop in 'Drag and Drop area'. 

  2. An import batch number will be generated corresponding to this import.

  3. If inventory import failed, the excel sheet will get downloaded with the error description. 

  4. Inventory imported successfully in the system will be visible on the Inventory screen.



Virtual Import


A virtual inventory includes all of the products which are not physically present in the current warehouse but can be arrange or procure or manufacture from other location or warehouse or vendor after order is received then fulfil to the customer.


Select Virtual type and click on the template name as ‘Download_Template’ option to download and open the excel template as shown below:



  • The template consists of fields like SKU and Total Virtual Inventory.
  • User can enter the details in this template and save the same on desktop/laptop.
  • To import this filled excel sheet, the user can drag that file and drop in 'Drag and Drop area'.
  • An import batch number will be generated corresponding to this import.
  • If inventory import failed, the excel sheet will get downloaded with the error description. 
  • Inventory imported successfully in the system will be visible on the Inventory screen.


Please Note: Total Inventory Push to Marketplace = Physical Inventory + Virtual Inventory



Move Inventory Import


If a user wants to move the inventory from one bin to another, then follow the below procedure for that.


On the Inventory page, click on Import Button and Select "Move Inventory" in Import type and click on the template name as ‘Download_Template’ option to download and open the excel template as shown below:



  • The template consists of fields like SKU, From Bin, To Bin and Qty.
  • User can enter the details in this template and save the same on desktop/laptop.
  • To import this filled excel sheet, the user can drag that file and drop in 'Drag and Drop area'.
  • An import batch number will be generated corresponding to this import.
  • If inventory import failed, the excel sheet will get downloaded with the error description. 
  • Inventory imported successfully in the system will be visible on the Inventory New screen.


    Please Note: to be moved Qty must be less than or equal to the available qty in the current bin.
